Little Lever Celebrates World Book Day

Little Lever School celebrated World Book Day on the 3rd March. Led by the teaching staff of the English and Drama departments, who all dressed up as well known literary characters, students were encouraged to spend time reading their own favourite stories through the school’s DEAR (Drop Everything And Read) strategy in lessons in the afternoon.

From left to right: The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas (Mrs Horner), Little Red Riding Hood (Mrs Mulla), Peter Pan (Miss Roby), Alice in Wonderland (Miss Kipps), Sirius Black (Miss Pirie), Shakespeare’s Juliet (Mrs Westwood), Mr Strong (Mr Tuff), Winnie The Pooh (Mr Seddon).

Alice in Wonderland (Miss Kipps) enjoys an Enid Blyton story.

Special English lessons were delivered which focused on great books and novels aimed at young readers

Sirius Black (Miss Pirie) still has some way to go with his reading skills when planning for his future after Azkerban prison.

In addition, every member of staff shared their favourite book which they enjoyed reading as a teenager in each lesson students attended throughout the day.
