STEM - CREST Discovery Award

DSCN0496

On the 17th September sixty students from Year 9 took part in a whole school STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) day and through a team based challenge, were asked to construct a water filtration system that could collect and store rainwater, without leakage, filter the collected rainwater, to remove any foreign material, assemble a water sensor and to connect a pump to empty the tank.

The event was a huge success as students presented their ideas, designs and finished products to the whole group. The students who completed the challenge would then be eligible to gain the prestigious British Science Association’s CREST discovery award https://www.crestawards.org/crest-discovery/
