Little Lever has another amazing day in athletics at The Greater Manchester School Games

Little Lever School competed in The Greater Manchester School Games, which took place on Wednesday 5th July 2017 at Sport City, Manchester. The event started with an amazing opening ceremony, dedicated to ‘We love Manchester’ with the poem written by Tony Walsh being read by a Manchester school and the Ariana Grande’s song ‘One Last Time’ was performed by Parrs Wood High School.

After this eleven of our Year 7 pupils took part in the athletics competiton: Elina Velickate, Amy Rossington, Phoebe Alston-Forrester, Rebecca Anderson, Olivia Vining, Sol Love, Cain Cartwright, Jason Scaife, Thomas Hamlett, Jack Walton and Luke Greenhalgh.  They competed against a number of schools from Greater Manchester and all took part in the 100m, long jump, 800m, howler and relay.

At the end of the activities the points from each event were added together to determine first, second and third male and female and first, second and third school positions.

Little Lever had two outstanding achievements with Amy Rossington and Jason Scaife winning third place and a medal.  Both performed exceptionally well and did fantastically to achieve third place out of the whole of the competition.

Little Lever also won the 4x100m relay with Amy Rossington, Elina Velickaite, Jack Walton and Sol Love, all running brilliantly.

Well done to all whole took part and for having a fabulous day.
