A-Level Photography Workshop

The school welcomed Michelle Pennington, A-level photography tutor at Bolton Sixth-Form College who came to deliver a workshop utilising A-level techniques for a number of our current GCSE photography students in Years 9 and 10.

The students were taught how to create 'chemigrams' - a traditional wet-bench process of creating images of objects by exposure onto light sensitive photographic paper and a chemical bath process.

The students were also able to view A-level photography portfolios. The students were really inspired and were keen to use what they have learnt and seen in their current GCSE projects. The workshop led to some students expressing a desire to study the subject at A-level in the future as well.

The school and the college plan to run more workshops in the future.
