Business Year 11

Online Resources for Home Study

In the event of a school closure your Business teacher will be setting a variety of online learning activities. Instructions on how to access these activities is below:

Google Classroom

Search for ‘Google Classroom’ in Google and click on the link. To login you need to enter your school email address (your_school_username@little-lever.bolton.sch.uk) and your school password.

You should then add yourself to the following Google class (Year 11 Business eLearning) using the code: fy6tvxk

Once you have accessed the class, a variety of structured lesson resources will be available here for you to work through. Where possible, the resources will follow your learning map for this year so that you will learn exactly what you would have learnt if you had been in school. Therefore, it is important that you attempt all the set activities.

eLearning Resources

The elearning resources will be set each week on Google classroom and will use a combination of online websites/resources alongside your Business revision guide. Unless otherwise instructed to do so, you should start with the ‘week 1 topic’ assignment then work your way through the lesson resources from there.

Your teacher will be able to monitor your progress with the set activities as many of the websites used record your attempts and this information is made available to your teacher.

If you have any questions regarding any of the set tasks you can email your teacher who will check regularly and reply as soon as they can (sfa@little-lever.bolton.sch.uk and mmo@little-lever.bolton.sch.uk).

Learning Maps

A Learning Map outlines what students in each year group will learn in their subject through a chronological list of topics, knowledge and skills taught in each term.

Homework

Homework is a vital part of the Little Lever curriculum.  Homework will be used as preparation or as a follow up to low stakes quizzes in lessons. Homework will focus on the essential knowledge students need to support their progress through the curriculum in each subject area.  Low stakes quizzes will revisit the essential knowledge, technical vocabulary and skills students need to be able to understand and articulate their ideas for topics they will be studying.

In this section you will find resources that will help students prepare or follow up from a low stakes quiz.

Almost all homework tasks are completed online via Seneca Learning (link).  Seneca provides knowledge and low stakes quizzes in direct relation to the Business curriculum.  Each fortnight students will receive a set of 3 quizzes; one with current learning, the second to revisit prior learning and third to reshape learning

Students should aim to get at least 80% of the questions correct.

Every student will have their own login and password to access Seneca Learning.

Step Assessments

Step Assessments are an outline of when students are tested during each term and what area of learning students will be assessed on.
