NEW BANNER 3

Year 11 students

11th June 2019

Dear Parent / Carer

Our Year 11 students have been magnificent throughout this academic year.  They have worked hard and shown real determination, effort and resilience to keep going through what is a difficult and, at times, stressful period in their lives. I hope when they collect their GCSE results in August they feel proud of what they have achieved.  I hope it is the start of great things to come and that their time at Little Lever School has given them the experiences and opportunities to achieve things they never thought they could, for the rest of their lives!

To fully prepare students for exam success, pre-exam classes, which give students at least 100 minutes of a specific subject area immediately before the GCSE exam, have been organised.  The students have really valued this as vital final preparation time, just before they sit the exam, providing them with the opportunity to go over key topics and essential knowledge.

We recognise that the GCSE exam calendar is a demanding time for our students.  In light of this, and in recognition of the hard work students have shown throughout the exam period, we will be allowing those Year 11 students who are not studying geography to go home after the chemistry exam on Wednesday morning.  We would encourage students to use this time for private revision in preparation for their final science exam (physics) on Friday 14th June.

Those students studying geography will be required to stay until lunch time on Wednesday 12th June, to attend their pre-exam class for the geography exam on Thursday morning (13th June).

We expect all Year 11 students to be in school on Thursday 13th June to attend their science pre-exam classes ready for the final physics exam on Friday 14th June. Students will be allowed to go home once they have finished their physics exam on the morning of Friday 14th June.

In addition to this, students who study hospitality and catering will be expected to be in school on Monday 17th June for their pre-exam classes before the final exam on Tuesday 18th June.

We wish all of our Year 11 students well and hope they can join us to celebrate their time at Little Lever School at the forthcoming Prom on Thursday 20th June. This will be held at The Village Hotel, Waterfold Business Park, Rochdale Road in Bury, BL9 7BQ. Students can start to arrive at the Prom from 6:30pm, with everybody needing to be there by 7:00 pm.

I would also like to take this opportunity to thank all our parents / carers who have given the school, and their children the support and positive encouragement they have needed throughout their time at Little Lever School.  It will be sad to see them go but I hope the experiences we have given them provide a platform for future success and happiness.

Yours faithfully

 Mr Mckeon
