PGL France Trip Report

Mr Foulkes has sent through a report from the first three days of the French water sports trip:

The journey was long and a bit stuffy but we finally got here at 9am. After a quick change and breakfast it was straight into buoyancy aids and helmets, canoe drill and then down to the river.

Everyone completed 4.5km on the river. Paddling was hard but people are starting to get the hang of it.

Food is great and there is loads for the students to do including the glorious outdoor pool. Temperature was 35⁰C today but we also had some lovely cooling rain.

On day 2 and 3 we have paddled over 16km on the river Ardeche. It has been hard work, everyone has got very wet but had loads of fun. We have navigated rapids, took on the slip and slide challenge and trekked out of the gorge. See the photos for some highlights!

There has been plenty of food at every stage with sumptuous buffets including the Subway style lunch served on an upturned boat!

More updates to follow at the end of the canoe descent later today.
